Youth Employment Services


Youth Pre-employment Training Programme and Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme (YPTP&YWETS)
With the concerted efforts of the Labour Department, employers and training bodies, the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme and Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme (YPTP&YWETS) provides a comprehensive platform of job search with one-stop and diversified pre-employment and on-the-job training for young school leavers aged 15 to 24 with educational attainment at sub-degree or below level. This programme enables young people to better understand themselves and their work aptitudes while enriching their job skills and experience so as to enhance employability.


Youth Employment Start (Y.E.S.)
The Chief Executive has announced in the 2006-07 Policy Agenda that two Youth Employment Resource Centres, now re-named as “Youth Employment Start” (Y.E.S.), will be set up to provide one-stop employment and self-employment support service to young people aged between 15 and 29. The first Y.E.S. located in Langham Place, Mongkok has come into operation since 20 December 2007 and the second one in Metroplaza, Kwai Fong was set up on 19 March 2008.


Vocational Development Programme

-  To provide students with training on specific trade skills to enhance their employability;
- To provide students with training on life skills to help them adapt to and integrate into society; and
- To assist students to obtain recognized qualifications to better equip them for further studies or career advancement.
